John Andrea Ambassador - Graduating Class of 1980
John Andrea is being inducted into the CFASA Hall of Fame for his decades of service and contributions to the Cuyahoga Falls Soccer Community.
John’s contributions to the advancement of Cuyahoga Falls soccer spans decades, first as a youth player, and them as a member of the Black Tiger Soccer Teams from 1977 to 1980. During his high school career, John served as team captain, and received 2nd Team All District Honors for his defensive prowess.
After his playing career at CFHS, John’s contributions continued as he ultimately became a founding member of the Cuyahoga Falls Alumni Soccer Association and he helped organize the Cuyahoga Falls High School Women’s Soccer Program getting them to their inaugural season of club ball in 1988.
John, along with fellow Hall of Famer, Jake Ricker, are credited with organizing and sustaining the Cuyahoga Falls Alumni Soccer game starting in 1983 and continuing onward.
With John’s diligence and the team who worked alongside him, CFASA continued to grow in membership, and the funds raised by the organization has played a vital role in supporting Cuyahoga Falls Soccer for over three decades.
One of John’s teammates noted, “John’s dedication to the CFASA and the Cuyahoga Falls Soccer Community is nothing short of extraordinary. He tirelessly gathered information, maintained contacts, solicited contributions, and made all of the phone calls each year to make the alumni games a reality. In an age before text messages, and emails, John put the time in, and the alumni game happened every year because of his hard work and passion.
John currently resides in Stow and is employed by Meggitt Aircraft Brake Systems Corporation as a Continuous Improvement Leader.
