Mark’s High School Coach Todd Hartong remembers Mark as one half of the greatest tandem he has ever coached. He mused that the combination play between Mark and Pat Beattie was a joy to watch, and a pleasure to coach.
After finishing his career at CFHS, Mark continued his storied soccer career at the University of St. Francis in Indiana in which he helped lead the Cougars to the NAIA semi-finals in 2001 and earned 1st Team NAIA Honors, 1st Team MCC, and he was an All-American Honorable Mention.
After college Mark moved to Richmond, Virginia and became a founding member of the Semi-Pro Club Paritizan Richmond FC. And later moved back to Northeast Ohio where he became a founding member of Partizan Akron FC.
Mark is now spending his career as graphic designer and lives in Cuyahoga Falls with his wife Katie and their daughter. Mark is credited with designing the CFASA logo that appears on our player jerseys and letterhead.
Mark would like to pass along his sincere thanks to Coach Hartong and Coach Nick Cellebreeze for putting up with him and continuously pushing him to be better. And above all else, Mark wants to thank his teammates. He is most proud of the lifelong friendships he formed along the way as a Black Tiger.
